Descending into Tallulah Gorge | A Georgia Adventure
After leaving Congaree National Park in our last video we parked up near the Georgia border and drove in to explore Tallulah Gorge State Park. The most popular hike in the park is the Tallulah Falls hike that takes you down around 550 stairs to the canyon floor where you can witness the epic beauty of the waterfalls. If you get there early enough in the day you can also get a permit to hike past the fence into the gorge floor but we arrived after they were sold out. They only sell 100 permits a day! It was definitely a tough hike but we loved getting to see all the natural beauty of the canyon up close. At the bottom we ate a picnic we'd brought with us and then started back up. Thankfully there are a lot of stopping points on the way back up to rest, which you'll need because 550 stairs back up is no joke!
